Portfolio Manager
The Banking and Financial Services Group (BFS) is the primary relationship manager for Macquarie's retail client base with operations in Australia, New Zealand, Asia, North America and Europe. BFS provides a diverse range of retail banking and wealth management products and services to intermediaries, businesses and the end consumer.
We are seeking to attract an accomplished Portfolio Manager to join our highly rated investment management organisation. This role is fundamental to the overall performance and integrity of our growing business, which enjoys a strong track record as a leading managed account provider.
This is a diverse role allowing you to leverage off your experience within the Australian and / or global Equities markets and your understanding of investment risks across broader capital markets. Our dedicated investment team will assist you in driving superior portfolio outcomes. Your communication skills will be crucial to client and key stakeholder engagement.
In this role, reporting directly to the Head of Investments, you will be expected to:
- Develop, deliver and maintain, a risk-managed portfolio process within our investment framework;
- Deliver formal presentations of your portfolio investment process, outcomes and broader views / insights of our business
- Develop macroeconomic outlooks and strategies across global, domestic and emerging markets and participation in asset allocation decision-making;
- Actively participate within the industry, promoting both managed accounts and investments in general, including presentations to financial advisors, investors and the media;
- Recommend broader initiatives for the ongoing development of our overarching investment framework;
- Participate in the overall investment management process for the various asset classes managed by our Investment Team.
You will demonstrate a high degree of commercial and technical acumen and will possess the following:
- Relevant degree in business/finance, post graduate study, such as CFA or MBA, would be highly regarded;
- Extensive portfolio management and / or senior investment analyst experience,
- Investment analyst and modelling skills, valuation methods, and qualitative / quantitative techniques;
- Strong organisation skills with ability to work both independently and in a team setting; multi-tasking will be key in a complex, fast-paced, and deadline-driven environment;
- Superior communication skills, both oral and written.
