Business Unit Overview: BlackRock Multi-Asset Client Solutions (BMACS) is responsible for delivering cross asset class solutions to BlackRock clients worldwide. BMACS team consists of more than 160 investment professionals located in London, San Francisco, New York, Sydney and Zurich. BMACS has specialist expertise in Fiduciary Management, Asset Allocation, Manager Selection, Advisory and Liability Driven Investing. BlackRock’s Multi-Asset Client Solutions (BMACS) group is seeking an Asset Allocation Portfolio Manager for its Core Solutions team. BMACS develops and manages investment solutions involving multiple strategies and asset classes. The team includes portfolio managers, quantitative analysts, investment strategists, research analysts, economists, and actuaries. Core Solutions is a dynamic, large scale and high volume business where a Portfolio Manager handles all aspects of portfolio activity including asset allocation, risk and performance management, and responding to client orders and queries. The successful candidate will be part of a team that is responsible for the management of multi-asset portfolios including active and, passive asset allocation strategies within client portfolios and retail fund products. In addition to these responsibilities, the individual will have the opportunity to be a key contributor to new business and product development and to take an active role in developing the systems and processes used to support a diverse and growing book of business Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily portfolio management tasks; liquidity management, portfolio re-balancing, risk and performance management.
- Use market experience and knowledge to contribute to system and process development.
- Provide analytical and qualitative support to portfolio design and new product development.
- Provide subject matter expertise working with Strategy and Legal and Compliance teams to draft and approve client guidelines.
- Support for management and client-facing groups in research and ad-hoc requests.
Knowledge/Experience:
- Minimum of an undergraduate degree in a financial, economic or quantitative discipline.
- FSA registration or relevant qualification. (IMC, CFA)
- Relevant experience in the investment management industry.
- Working knowledge of portfolio construction and asset allocation theory.
- Excellent teamwork and communication abilities.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
- Knowledge of optimisation techniques and an interest applying them to portfolios would be beneficial.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments while producing a high quality work in a demanding, deadline driven environment.
- Attention to detail is critical.
