Portfolio Manager – Fund of Funds recruitment

Backed by a very technical asset allocation research team, this Fund of Funds platform manages significant captive money as well as external assets. With committed backing from the parent organisation (a global asset management house) as well as plans to increase third-party AuM in coming years, this platform represent an excellent move for a portfolio manager seeking both stability and autonomy.

Successful candidates for this position must be comfortable with the principles and practices of effective asset allocation and risk taking in a multi-asset team, be able to point to success in their track record, and have the ability to generate investment ideas and follow them through. The management approach on this team allows for a high degree of discretion and independence, matched with strong position management. Therefore, candidates should be familiar with a balanced fund/absolute return approach to fixed income and/or equity products and have exposure to third-party management. Knowledge and use of a range of derivatives, commodities and other asset classes is desirable.

While candidates applying directly from hedge funds or investment banks are potentially suitable, it is likely that successful applicants will move from traditional asset management environments, perhaps to seek independence and fewer investment restrictions. Candidate who have experience or enjoyment of presenting or marketing to existing and potential investors will be looked on favourably. The team culture is collegiate, and the Dublin-based office provides excellent quality of life to complement the potential rewards.
