With assets under administration of nearly $91.1 billion, British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (bcIMC) is one of Canada's largest institutional fund managers. bcIMC’s clients include public sector pension plans, public bodies, publicly administered trust funds, and government operating funds. Since its inception in 1988, bcIMC has grown significantly and is now regarded as one of Canada’s most influential financial institutions with a diverse and global mix of assets.

With a real estate portfolio of $14.3 billion, predominantly in North America, bcIMC continues to look for strategic opportunities to diversify and increase its international real estate holdings (currently $1B+ AUM) and plans to expand investments in renewable resources through agriculture over the next few years. To champion the next phase of investment, bcIMC is looking for a senior real estate manager to oversee the growth of the international real estate portfolio and emerging investment areas.

Reporting to the Vice President, the Portfolio Manager, International Real Estate is responsible for acquisition; development; portfolio design; and management of international fund and separate account managers; business enterprise investments; and emerging investment areas including agriculture. This position will take a lead role in manager selection and due diligence, portfolio management and investment strategy for these investment areas.

The ideal candidate will have extensive lead-role experience within the real estate investment industry preferably with a global focus and a solid understanding of operating business fundamentals. A clear understanding of what it means to be a good fiduciary is essential.A proven track record working as a senior real estate manager in property selection, transaction negotiations, underwriting, and proper exercise of due diligence is also required. Recent experience should include senior management of multi-million dollar real estate portfolios for an institutional investor.
