THE ROLE
Reporting to the Portfolio Director, the candidate will be responsible for monitoring, forecasting and enhancing the financial performance of PFI investments.
Responsibilities:
- Analysis and provision of periodic (up to quarterly) valuation of the portfolio with the support of 2 analysts
- Identification and management of value enhancements and asset management initiatives to PFI/PPP investments in the portfolio including optimising tax claims, refinancing, bulk procurement, treasury management, financial restructuring, accounting policies etc;
- Managing the preparation of 4 year financial forecasts, in particular forecasting cashflow and dividend cash cover and in conjunction with the Portfolio Director preparation of the annual business plan
- Management of distributable cashflow, with responsibility for monitoring and managing receipt of distributions and ensuring the fund’s dividend is cash covered
- Assisting in senior debt and forex management in consultation with financial controller and the portfolio director;
- The role is expected to expand over time to take additional responsibilities potentially across other managed infrastructure funds
THE CANDIDATE
- Either a qualified accountant (with at least 2 years post qualifying) or who has around 2-4 years of relevant experience of PFI transactions
- Must have experience of working in the PFI industry, preferably in portfolio management
- Has reasonable knowledge of PFI accounting and managing transactions
- Experience of managing one or more junior colleagues
- Is proficient in Excel and able to use detailed Excel models
- Is service focussed and comfortable dealing with internal teams and external auditors
