Portfolio Manager – Separately Managed Accounts recruitment
BlackRock is seeking a Portfolio Manager to join our separate accounts business in our Bloomfield Hills, MI office. As a Portfolio Manager, you will be directly responsible for individual high net worth accounts. The goal is to apply a risk management process to evaluate a client's current investment portfolio and provide a solution that meets that individual's needs and requirements. In addition, you will be expected to build client and Financial Advisor relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Successfully implement investment strategy and apply strategy to portfolios as appropriate for each client.
- Maintain in-depth daily knowledge of the securities markets and individual securities as well as portfolio management products, including the rationale for underlying holdings, sector and asset allocation decisions. Become a trusted and respected member of the Private Investors portfolio management teams, attending and contributing to team meetings.
- Understand and discuss performance results. Maintain current understanding of market developments specific to the product and proactively communicate related information to clients and Financial Advisors.
- Prepare and present clients reports as needed. Deliver clear presentations on the markets, Private Investors products, process, strategy, performance and outlook. Participate in new business presentations and reporting meetings for key Financial Advisors and clients. Help win business and create new leads.
- Act as an ambassador for Private Investors, articulating the division's investment proposition and strategy. Respond promptly to investment-related inquiries from Financial Advisors, client, salespeople and marketers.
- Working with marketing, participate in initiatives and campaigns to better inform and service the Financial Advisor client base with respect to Private Investors products.
- Develop strong personal relationships across functions - with the portfolio management teams, sales teams, and marketing teams.
Skills:
- Over seven years of discretionary portfolio management experience is required. Candidate must demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of and interest in the equity markets, as well as significant understanding of the separate account management process.
- A good understanding of general trust and estate planning concepts utilized in the wealth management process is needed for this position
- Series 7, 66 registered.
- Successful candidates will be highly credible presenters, able to deliver compelling and concise investment presentations leading to increased business. They will be able to successfully field in-depth investment-related questions on a broad range of equity-related topics.
- The individual will also have strong written communications skills.
- Successful candidates will be self-starters able to effectively operate in a highly team-oriented and collaborative environment and efficiently manage their time. They will have strong interpersonal skills, and will be expected to develop warm relationships with Financial Advisors, clients, sales teams, marketing teams, and other functions within the division.
- An MBA, CFA or other advanced degree/qualification is highly preferred.
