The Fixed Income team offers an array of fixed income products designed to meet specific client risk and return profiles. Incorporating the expertise of BlackRock's sector specialists, each client portfolio is tailored to reflect specific investment guidelines and objectives with respect to interest rate exposure, sector allocation and credit quality.
Role Description
BlackRock is currently looking for a Portfolio Manager who will be responsible for assisting in the management of the Sterling book of business and reporting to the head of Sterling, Ian Winship. BlackRock manages in excess of £23 billion in sterling bond mandates across a variety of benchmarks, including £11 billion in stand-alone mandates.
Responsibilities:
- Play a role in the team managing BlackRock’s Sterling credit book.
- Portfolio construction and maintenance
- Use established network and presence in the market place to source creative investment opportunities for the Sterling portfolios
- Contribute investment themes and ideas to the team
- Articulate investment arguments in a logical manner
- Manage portfolio in a risk controlled environment
- Contribute to the credit strategy process
Experience and Qualifications:
- Experience in €/£ credit markets
- Have a comprehensive understanding of the Sterling Fixed Income markets
- Experience in portfolio construction and management
- Some experience in derivatives ideally
- Strong communication skills and excellent interpersonal capability
- Have the appropriate risk appetite and decision making skills to succeed in a risk taking environment

- Minimum IMC
- Highly computer literate, with advanced spreadsheet-based skills
