Portfolio Risk Analytics Manager recruitment

Lead and guide teams on the scoping, design, development, validation, implementation of Basel credit risk models.

* Lead and guide teams on the governance and implementation of allBaselcredit risk models for Asset Finance.

* Provide technical leadership and coaching to your teams, and strive to take learnings from your team to the wider Portfolio Risk Analytics team, and beyond.

* Help steer the business in the preparation of business cases and resource plans for individual model developments.

* Oversee project management of individual model development projects and ensure all models are built on track and on budget

* Support the stakeholder communication process throughout the end-to-end model lifecycle, clearly identifying where additional stakeholders need involvement and ensure that all affected colleagues (inside and outside Risk, the business, IT, etc) are aware of the model development work and its impact and requirements.

* Manage a large team of technical staff to ensure that their contribution to the business is optimised and that staff are developed to their maximum potential and that their overall capacity is increased, s

* Develop and maintain a network of external contacts within the risk industry and be fully aware of all relevant regulatory and legislative changes ensuring all colleagues are aware and any impacts identified and plans put in place to address any issues.

Qualifications and Experience

* A good degree in a numerate subject, preferably at a postgraduate level, and preferably in a relevant subject (e.g. maths, statistics, operational research, economics, engineering)

* Experience in the development of risk models in the financial industry

* Expert knowledge of modern risk management techniques within the finance industry, and in the use of risk models throughout such an environment, including technical expertise of at least one major area (e.g. Basel Credit Risk Modelling, Operation Model development, Stress Testing and Forecasting)

* Knowledgeable in the use of statistical packages (including dealing with large datasets) and model development environments.

* Excellent team leadership including a proven track record in leading and motivating teams including experience of stakeholder management.

* Excellent project, programme management skills with strong communication skills (written and oral),

* A high level of creativity, drive, innovation and initiative, and good time management and people management skills
