BlackRock's Multi-Asset Client Solutions (BMACS) team develops and manages investment solutions involving multiple strategies and asset classes. The team includes more than 130 portfolio managers, quantitative analysts, investment strategists, research analysts, economists, and actuaries. We partner with clients to solve their investment and liability challenges by understanding their objectives, advising on solutions, and designing and implementing strategies that meet or exceed goals. The team's guiding principles are to:

The BlackRock Multi-Asset Client Solutions (BMACS) team is seeking a Portfolio Specialist to support existing and prospective retail clients in the US. This individual will be expected to communicate the BMACS investment process and tactical asset allocation views to financial advisors and individual clients. In addition, the successful candidate will participate in the development of new retail strategies. This individual will be part of the BMACS investment team based in New York.
Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee the creation of market environment slides to describe the BMACS tactical asset allocation views.
- Participate in the development and creation of new investor-friendly marketing materials.
- Understand the investment processes of individual active BlackRock mutual funds and how those funds fit within asset allocation portfolios.
- Understand the mechanics and benefits of BlackRock iShares.
- Represent BMACS short and intermediate-term views on global asset markets, including equity, fixed income, commodities, and alternatives.
- Educate financial advisors on asset allocation 'best practices' and portfolio construction intricacies.
- Monitor market trends and work with Portfolio Management, Research and Channels to manage the design and implementation of new product ideas.
- Work with Portfolio Management, Trading and Operations to ensure existing and new products can be efficiently manufactured.
- Communicate to Channels the investment strategy and performance results as well as provide technical support on products.
- Understand the competitive landscape and develop key points of differentiation for BlackRock.
Qualifications
- An undergraduate degree in quantitative, finance or economic discipline.
- Additional qualifications of CFA, MBA, or CIMA are preferred.
- 8+ years experience working on the buy side, sell side, or an independent research firm in a macro asset allocation or strategy capacity.
- Experience presenting to retail financial advisors.
- Experience within equity or fixed income portfolio management is desirable.
