Portfolio Steering Analyst (Re)insurance
The Portfolio Steering ('PS') sub-group is responsible for defining investment mandates and steering the use of legal entity balance sheets with regards to investments. Furthermore PS is responsible for the overall AM relationship with the management and the Board of Directors of the underlying operating entities and thus acts as a relationship manager. PS also reviews the material investment aspects of all transactions entered into by Swiss Re Group.
As a Portfolio Steering Analyst you will have the following responsibilities and tasks:
Analyze Swiss Re legal entity level investment activity and keep current on portfolio management activity.
Analyze overall Swiss Re investment strategies for specific legal entities point of view and with respect to other considerations such as tax impacts, regulatory considerations and local solvency.
Allocate overall investment strategies to specific Swiss Re subsidiary companies and support internal
portfolio managers in selecting portfolios to place certain investments.
Help define and maintain asset class specific investment mandates including the definition of appropriate investment benchmarks, return objectives targets, and risk limits.
Help maintain relationships with members of each legal entity including a regular dialog on investment
matters and the impact on the underlying company.
Help address investment related matters that arise.
Design legal entity investment guidelines for approval by the Local CFO or the Board of Directors.
Help to maintain and contribute to the further development of the operative platform used by Portfolio Steering.
BA or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, or a quantitative discipline. CFA, FRM or actuarial education expected a plus
Preference for 2 years relevant experience in the insurance or financial services industry, ideally with a good knowledge of asset classes or the economics of insurance products.
Past exposure to (re-)insurance business, regulation, taxes and accounting, (particularly in Europe) is a plus.
Proven ability in and enthusiasm for working in an international environment. Strong and dedicated team player.
Strong MS-Office skills, Excel and Access in particular, familiarity with VBA important.
