Post Room Assistant/Courier - 5 month FTC
Salary: £13,884 - £14,274+ benefits including:
Performance related bonus, Pension
We are currently seeking a Post Room Assistant/Courier to work within our facilities (HR) team on a fixed term basis. This role will be focussed on providing efficient and helpful assistance to staff visiting the post room. You will receive and sort all incoming mail, deliver post and daily papers to director's offices, receive good's in, checking and documenting all packages. The role will also involve courier duties, delivering post/parcels to satellite sites and pick up of post for sending.
About the role
The main responsibilities of the role include;
- Prioritising photocopying requests to ensure all jobs are completed by agreed deadlines
- Fault reporting to photocopying company when machines require maintenance
- Delivering paper to all departments within SSO
- Safe loading, transportation, unloading and delivery of goods to the relevant areas in line with manual handling guidelines and risk assessments
- Collecting courier post from goods-in reception
- Sorting and send out store mail each week, frank post received by the post room
- Use of PC based tracking system (Despatch Manager) and Way Bills to ensure overnight courier goods are delivered within correct time scales.
- Completion of courier consignment notes
- Dealing with all stationery requests from SSO Staff and help with orders and queries
- Covering absence on the switchboard when appropriate
- Ordering of stationery for SSO and replenishing cupboards
- Collating of documents, binding and laminating as required
About you
The successful candidate is likely to be/demonstrate;
- Hold a full European Licence for at least 12 months
- Computer literate
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work under pressure with a resilient nature
- Demonstrate good attention to detail
- Good communication skills with the ability to deal with employees at all levels
- Strong team player
