Postdoctoral Fellow
A Postdoctoral fellow position is available for immediate hiring in The Center for Spatial Systems Biomedicine and Biomedical Engineering Department at OHSU, Portland OR. We seek motivated individuals to develop super resolution, quantitative imaging microscopy to visualize receptor trafficking and signaling of single molecules in live cells (Fichter et al, PNAS, 2010; Long and Vu, Biophy J, 2010). The successful applicant will develop new methods: 1) to perform 2D and 3D tracking of fluorescent quantum dot nanoparticles in live cells and 2) to analyze complex spatiotemporal dynamic data obtained from such single molecule imaging experiments. Numerous opportunities are available for application of the developed technology to both fundamental and clinically-direct projects in the areas of spatial system biology in the areas of cancer and neurological disease. This position will involve interaction in team-collaborative projects composed of biologists and clinicians, physicists, as well as industry partners.
