Postdoctoral Fellow(s), Tumor Metabolism Biology Job in Cambridge 02139, Massachusetts Us

In a little over 3 years, Forma Therapeutics, Inc. has established a reputation as a company on the move. Early success with its DOS library platform led to lucrative collaborations with Cubist, Eisai the ETC in Singapore. After a short 18 months, our 1st program on a tumor metabolism target was licensed to Genentech. We will follow these collaborations with additional alliances in the near future.

Forma was named a 2011 “Fierce 15” Biotech Company. “ Each one of these private life sciences companies is out to do something truly exceptional, looking to pioneering technology innovative business models to improve odds that, let’s face it, would make most mortals cringe” commented John Carroll, an editor @ Fierce Biotech.

Forma continues to gain experience to evolve/industrialize our Discovery Engine. Our CS mapping technology, targeted diversity libraries screening platforms provide the basis for relentless pursuit of drugs that may change the face of cancer treatment. In 2012, our group of ~100 employees in Cambridge, Branford, CT Singapore will tackle 40 exciting oncology targets using both biochemical cellular assays will screen ~30,000,000 wells.

The targets in our pipeline those planned in the upcoming years represent the cutting edge of cancer drug discovery; adding to this year’s efforts, we will further explore the areas of Tumor Metabolism, Epigenetics, Autophagy, Necroptosis, Ubiquitination broadly, Protein/Protein Interactions.

Postdoctoral Fellows in Tumor Metabolism Biology (position(s) # 155)

These positions will be in our new Metabolomics Center require a PhD in biology or relevant life science discipline (a background in tumor metabolism is preferred). Forma’s chemocentric approach to drug discovery commitment to delving into 50-60 relevant tumor metabolism targets over the next 3-4 years will provide significant numbers of tool compounds. These can be used to study the impact of modulation of the targets in a variety of cancers normal cells under many conditions. The immense amount of data that will be collected must be organized studied with the help of informatics modeling tools. This work will help Forma to understand which of the targets may be most appropriate for drugging also to determine whether single agent or combination therapies would be most effective in treating a specific cancer.

·      Experience in signal transduction, pathway analysis required

·      Advance knowledge of cancer biology including cancer metabolism preferred

·      Familiar with bioinformatics tools for pathway analysis desirable
