Postdoctoral Fellowship - Department of Pharmacological Sciences
A postdoctoral position is available within the Department of Pharmacological Sciences for an enthusiastic and hard-working individual to develop an innovative research program focused on molecular and cellular mechanisms of Parkinson’s disease. The successful candidate will work in a laboratory setting characterized by a strong multidisciplinary vocation. State-of-the-art imaging technologies will be combined with biochemistry, biophysics, and cell biology approaches in order to understand the function of key proteins involved in Parkinson’s disease.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in neuroscience and synaptic biology, and research experiences in standard biochemical techniques and mammalian cell cultures. Experience in electrophysiology, molecular cloning, and animal handling, are also desirable. International travel is required (15-30%)
Minimum Job Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
- PhD in Neuroscience or related disclipline
- Experience with cell biology systems
- Biochemistry experience
- Experience with multiple microscopy techniques
- Broad familiarity of other biological disciplines, molecular biology, histology, electrophysiology.
- Availability for international travel (up to 30%)
Skills/Abilities:
· Excellent written and oral communication skills
· Strong publication record
