Postdoctoral Researcher

  • Enterprise variations in tool use and their implications for technology design

    Candidates must possess in-depth problem solving skills with the ability to analyze work and business practices from both micro and macro perspectives, as well as the ability to identify and prototype new solutions. Highly desirable knowledge and capability includes statistical analysis (e.g., SPSS), information design and/or visualization, and business analysis or operations research.

    Also desired are a familiarity and comfort in working with ethnographic and qualitative research approaches, and an ability to move from research insight to action using human-centered design. Publications and inventions are expected. Candidates with an educational background with the social sciences are highly preferred as well.

    Of great importance, this candidate will exhibit leadership and strong communication skills enabling them to excel in a customer-facing scenario, and deliver captive presentations to an audience. Candidates must be self-starters and will be working in a highly dynamic, IT and engineering intensive environment. This position is expected to appeal particularly to candidates with a background and interest in such areas as management and information studies, social informatics, disciplines of design and science and technology studies.

    Required

    • Bachelor's Degree
    • At least 2 years experience in design and manage a research project
    • At least 2 years experience in strong communication and public presentation skills
    • Basic knowledge in demonstrated publication record within your field
    • English: Fluent

    Preferred

    • Doctorate Degree in Information Technology
