Power Contracts Analyst
The Power Contracts Analyst is responsible for providing effective contract management support on large and long term power contracts. The role holder will be responsible for ensuring delivery of the following:
- Ensure that all activities necessary before the start of the contract are complete, e.g. meter registrations and system developments
- Quantify risks of complex contracts and are manage these appropriately
- Ensure all contractual requests from external counterparties are understood, ensuring the benefits of the contracting entity are protected and value is maximised
- Apply commercial thinking to contract knowledge to identify value add opportunities - recommending and executing contract amendments to support where required
Accurate and timely day-to-day contract management:
- Provision of a single point of contact for all contract management activities and queries
- Advise operational teams of contract obligations and opportunities (termination clauses, ramp rates etc,)
- Provide support to Back Office as required to ensure smooth payment of invoices
Contract Position and ROC, LEC and CER forecasting and management:
- Receive and process forecasts of commodities from counterparties
- Use knowledge and experience to identify and quantify delivery risks
- Inform internal stakeholders of consequence of non-delivery
Power Contract Analyst - The Person:
Desirable:
- Good knowledge of the UK and European power and carbon wholesale market
- Good knowledge of the upstream power market
- Ability to use complex Excel models, develop and maintain them
- Initiative to propose changes to processes and systems
- Negotiation skills to drive successful resolution
