Power Distribution Designer - Field Helper (Temporary Position 6 Months )
Henkels McCoy, Inc., one of the largest privately held international utility contracting firms, with offices in 80 cities and celebrating 86 years of operating with a reputation as one of the most reliable and innovative firms in engineering and construction, is currently seeking a Power Distribution Designer - Field Helper based in Lorton, VA and will involve work in the Washington DC area.
The Power Distribution Designer - Field Helper (temporary position six months) will work with a power distribution designer on electric utility distribution projects. Work will include field surveying, traffic control, field notes and sketches. Project types will include design of aerial and underground electric network distribution lines. Field Helper will work under the supervision of a designer and/or engineer.
- Field surveying.
- Traffic control.
- Field notes and sketches.
- Driving to and from field sites.
- Experience in the design of electrical network distribution is a plus.
- Ability to communicate clearly and accurately in written documentation required.
- Knowledge of MS Office and field work required.
- Experience in the design of electric utility distribution systems is preferred.
- Associates degree preferred.
- A safe driving record required.
- Must be willing to travel locally.
- Overtime may be required.
- This position requires significant time standing or walking on uneven ground, possible climbing of ladders or being in high places, working in tight spaces and in general, being overall physically demanding.
- Must be able to lift at least 30 pounds.
- Must be able to work in an all weather environment.
