As a Power-Generation Equipment Repairer, you will ensure that the Army National Guard keeps receiving the electricity it needs to continue serving the Nation. This will be accomplished by maintaining and repairing electricity-generating equipment in mobile and stationary power plants.
Through training and practice in this specialty, you will develop technical skills that are in demand by todays employers. These skills include: generator and power plant operations; electrical generation and distribution; diesel generator operation, disassembly, inspection, and maintenance; and principles of electrical and electronic circuitry. By joining the Army National Guard, you will be preparing yourself for a rewarding civilian career as a power plant electrician.

Job training for a Power-Generation Equipment Repairer consists of nine weeks of Basic Training, where you'll learn basic Soldiering skills, and approximately 12 weeks of Advanced Individual Training, including practice in maintaining electrical power systems. Part of this time is spent in the classroom and part in the field.
