The Corix Group has an immediate opening for the position of Power Plant Shift Leader on our University of Oklahoma site. This position is based out of the Norman, Oklahoma office and will be responsible for the total operations responsibility for shift supervision of a two man crew on rotating shift basis. Will direct the operation of two Chilled Water Plants, Power Plant, CSI system, and Electrical Distribution System. Operation of Power Plant includes but is not limited to synchronous operation of electrical generation
equipment with large public utility to provide the electrical needs of Main and South Campuses. Operation of Chilled Water Plants includes but is not limited to providing cooling to all of Main Campus with steam and electric driven chillers. Oversees all maintenance and repairs to equipment in plants done during shift hours. Performs diverse tasks requiring high level of planning, coordinating, andprioritizing of efforts.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assigns work and instructs individuals of the shift crew concerning the maintenance and repair of heating, refrigeration, and similar supportive systems linked with the Power Plant/Chilled Water Plants complex.
- Supervises crew in the operation of synchronizing electrical generating equipment to a large public utility and maintains proper voltage and power factor on the electrical loop system.
- Monitors performance co preventive maintenance to ensure proper operation of equipment and piping systems.
- Contributes to the planning and implementing of the maintenance program.
- Provides a continuous evaluation of maintenance activities by evaluating work performance of assigned crew personnel, assessing and correcting safety hazards in the system and providing feedback to the Assistant Manager, Power Plant.
- Maintains appropriate records such as operation, logs, work requests, material usage, preventive maintenance and machine history records.
- Oversees skilled maintenance functions such as installing, adjusting, repairing, and replacing a variety of equipment within the heating and cooling system.
- Anticipates and identifies problems and recommends appropriate response and/or action.
- Takes water samples from boilers, chillers, and cooling towers and checks chemical composition.Makes adjustments in chemicals being added to maintain proper water conditions to optimum equipment efficiency.
- Ensures that personnel supervised are informed of and adhere to health and safety practices associated with assigned tasks.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
KNOWLEDGE
- Two years specialized vocational training
- Experience: 60 months
- Major/type: Mechanical, HVAC, boiler, or other technical trade
- Personal computers
- Boiler operator, heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration mechanic
- Supervisory experience
SKILLS
- Uses tools or equipment with expertise
- Reads and interprets complex written or printed materials
- Uses oral and written communication as required to train and direct others
- Performs addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Performs simple recordkeeping operations making changes to existing records including computerized records
