Power Shift Trader – London Energy Trading House, c.£35k recruitment
The incumbent will join a large front office position working on a shift pattern covering 24/7 short term trading on the UK and European power markets. The successful candidate will gain a broad exposure to continental markets, and liaise with hubs across Europe on a daily basis - leading to long-term career opportunities within the firm. On a daily basis you will trade and balance the physical positions for power reacting to demand and other external factors - exposure of which will lead to a good grounding of the key drivers within the European energy markets.
Applicants must have a degree in a numerate, engineering or computing discipline and an understanding of power contractual and operational rules. You should already have experience working in a similar short term trading role on the electricity markets, or perhaps generation optimisation, and be looking for a step into a larger firm with increased responsibility.
