Power Supply System Scheduler Job in Manassas, Virginia Us
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
A bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or other related disciplines is required.
A minimum of two years of experience working as a generation system scheduler/operator preferably within an RTO; or an equivalent period of time and experience working for an entity required to schedule/dispatch demand response bids/activities within a RTO is required.
PJM System Operator Certification is strongly desired.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Demonstrated results in handling multiple projects simultaneously without losing track of details at various stages of completion under both normal and stressful conditions.
Demonstrated proficiency utilizing various computer applications and the ability to monitor and navigate among several computer screens simultaneously. Specifically, proven working experience with the Microsoft Office Suite of products is required.
Demonstrated ability to function independently in a multi-task environment, as well as part of a team.
Demonstrated working knowledge of PJM Demand Response Programs (Energy, Capacity, Regulation, and Synchronized Reserve).
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and the general public both orally and in writing while maintaining professionalism under all circumstances.
Demonstrated ability to apply effective organization abilities, detail orientation, and research techniques to fulfill position responsibilities.
Demonstrated ability to anticipate and meet rapidly changing customer and business needs by quickly refocusing and realigning strategic and operational direction.
