Practice Nurse Band 6 for MoD
Hays is working with the Ministry of Defence (MoD) to recruit experienced Practice Nurse at Band 6 level to work as a part of a multi disciplinary primary healthcare team delivering general medical services and elements of occupational health to RAF Shawbury, Shrewsbury, Shropshire.
You would be required to work unsupervised in providing nursing and pre hospital emergency care to the medical centre population.
To Start: 02.06.14 – 29.08.14
Hours: 37.5 per week
You must be registered with the NMC and hold a valid PIN.
One year’s satisfactory previous experience at Band 6.
Minimum of two to three years post registration experience in Primary Health Care practice.
Experienced and competent in Immunisation, Venepuncture, Audiology.
Patient Group Directive (PGDs) in a related Community Health discipline or portfolio evidence of equivalent experience.
Desirable Experience in relevant areas:
Occupational Health Nursing (OHN), clinical supervision, Supporting Learning and Assessment in Practice (or equivalent), Travel Medicine, Cervical Cytology, Asthma Diploma, Chronic Disease management - diabetes and asthma, etc.
Competence in audiometry, smoking cessation, ear syringing and vaccination.
Well Woman and family planning clinics.
