EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED

The Nurse will work as part of a multi disciplinary primary healthcare team delivering general medical services and elements of occupational health to military personnel. Development of programmes of care, ability to perform audits and conduct searches.

To work unsupervised in providing nursing and pre hospital emergency care to the medical centre population. If the lead nurse, they will be expected to work autonomously in the provision of nurse led clinics, including communication with outside agencies and disciplines; will be responsible for the line management and clinical supervision of other Nurses where appropriate and ensure untrained personnel within the treatment area work within their personal capabilities.
QUALIFICATION MINIMA AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL
Must be registered with the NMC and hold a valid PIN.

One year’s satisfactory previous experience.

Minimum of two to three years post registration experience in Primary Health Care practice.

Experienced and competent in Immunisation, Venepuncture, Audiology.

DESIRABLE
Experience in relevant areas, e.g. Occupational Health Nursing (OHN), clinical supervision, Supporting Learning and Assessment in Practice (or equivalent), Travel Medicine, Cervical Cytology, Asthma Diploma, Chronic Disease management - diabetes and asthma, etc.

Competence in audiometry, smoking cessation, ear syringing and vaccination.

Well Woman and family planning clinics.

Previous experience of working with MOD.
