As the Pre-Sales Engineer you will:
- Prepare professional proposals for client review
- Understand and apply current pricing information to Requests for Proposals (RFPs)
- Research current costs, new information, or alternative resources to apply the most competitive pricing strategies
- Revise RFPs based on changes or updates from clients
- Heavily utilize Excel and Word for pricing structures, formulas, and final documents
- Work closely with executive management, sales, and operational team members to develop pricing estimations based on prospective customer requirements.
- Create bill of materials and technical submittals, work closely with suppliers and vendor to manage accuracy and costs
- Compare and analyze final pricing information to actual post-project data
- Request clarification and additional information from clients during the discovery phase
- Create Statements of Work based on the criteria provided from clients and common practices for installations
Successful candidates will have:
- Ability to translate prior hands-on field/installation experience into pricing scenarios
- Technical writing experience
- Materials estimation experience, preferably with infrastructure CAT 5e / 6
- Experience with large scale multi-site technology deployments
- Experience with Loss Prevention systems (preferred but not required)
- Recent Advanced Excel and Word usage in a business setting
- Understanding of basic math and financial equations as related to margins, discount percentages.
- Strong analytical deductive reasoning aptitude
- Ability to research new or unfamiliar information
- Experience working with short deadlines and fast paced atmosphere
- Highly detail orientated
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Understanding of current retail and commercial technology trends a plus
· Estimation, bid development, and proposal drafting of national deployment/roll-outs in response to customer; RFP, RFQ, and RFI
· Industry certifications related to: loss prevention/CCTV, data/voice networks, wireless, access controls, telephony, project management, and structured cabling. (preferred but not required)
· College Degree or industry focused technical degree
· Project management background and/or onsite project lead experience in similar industry. (Prior field/installation experience preferred, but not required)
