The Role:
Pacnet is currently seeking a Pre-Sale Technical Engineer for the San Francisco area. The Pre-Sale Technical Engineer will provide advice and expertise to sales executives and customers to assist in the development of long term profitable business relationships in the assigned region.
Required Skills Experience:
· Minimum of five years working in the communications industry (i.e. Telecoms or high tech) providing technical advice in a customer relationship and strategic sales environment
· Broad-based telecommunications systems design background, with strong project management skills
· Firm understanding of the following Telecommunications technologies/products including but not limited to IP Transit, MPLS, VPLS/AToM, VoIP, TCP/IP Suite, Multilayer Ethernet Services, SONET/SDH, DWDM, TDM, ASON/GMPLS, OTN
· Experience in the Data Center Services space with a keen understanding of core delivery and operational components
· Strong verbal, written, and analytical skills
· The flexibility to meet the changing environments of both the market place and Pacnet
· Previous experience in Customer facing role essential
· Proficient in CAD either Visio, Autocad, or similar experience
· Be pro-active in the establishment of professional relationships at appropriate levels of customer organizations and within Pacnet
· Current and comprehensive industry and technological knowledge
