Prepress Technician - If you're a night owl who responds effectively to situations/challenges of a technical nature under tight production deadlines, has a strong sense of urgency and communicates effectively, this is the job for you! Primary responsibilities are to monitor completed pages for accuracy and timeliness working closely with the editorial department. In addition, this position is responsible for output of all pages electronically to the press department to meet production deadlines. Other duties include page layout, photo toning, handling electronic files and placing classified ads thru pagination system. Hours are 5 p.m. to 1 a.m., Friday through Sunday, and 1 to 9 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday. Minimum two years experience in Desktop Publishing. Proficient in Quark (Mac and PC) and Photoshop.
