Preventative Maintenance Technician - Home Appliances (Danbury, CT)
To provide technical service on Preventive Maintenance calls, shuttle necessary parts and supplies for service repair completion for repair technicians, to perform on-the-job training tasks when working with a Repair Technician on call types. Job Responsibilities: - Perform Preventive Maintenance Checks in the customer's home. - Ride with or meet technician at designated location to assist on service call when assigned - Shuttle parts and supplies to technician when applicable - Provide courteous customer service - Work as a dedicated team member to ensure fast, flexible and expert service to every customer - Demonstrate a sense of urgency to meet customer time commitments - Successfully complete all Technician training elements within required timeframes - Meet key performance metrics and/or productivity goals as defined by the business - Provide knowledgeable and courteous preventive maintenance service - Continuously look for methods to improve business performance and enhance the customer experience - Follow the Value Added Services Process (i.e., selling extended warranties, water filters, etc.) by effectively communicating the benefits to the customer - Ability to receive truck stock at home if the company vehicle is retained at the technician's place of residence or other designated location. - Maintain truck stock inventory within the prescribed company guidelines and standards - Follow the truck maintenance schedule and keep a clean, organized truck - Adhere to all company policies and procedures - Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned Responsibilities/Skills/Experience Requirements Education/Training: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred. Graduation from trade school for HVAC + possess CFC certification Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license per company policy Experience: Knowledge of basic electrical principles Ability to use the Sears Smart Toolbox (SST) to input, access, modify, or output information Experience with reading, understanding and able to navigate through information presented in diagram, blueprints, or other pictorial displays on the laptop computer Experience using a laptop computer for service call processes, routing functions and parts/inquiries/ordering Ability to communicate, read, understand, and apply written text of a technical nature in order to answer questions, solve problems, or complete job tasks. Role specific abilities/skills: Complete understanding of all tools, equipment and materials used to perform services on HVAC units. Ability to read, write and speak English Ability to receive truck stock at home if a company vehicle is retained at the Break Fix Technician s residence or other location. Ability to work variable and flexible hours, including significant overtime as needed along with overnight and Sunday service as needed Ability to handle stressful situations and work in a fast-paced environment Ability to follow appropriate industry specific regulations related to the handling of hazardous materials Ability to lift and carry up to 75lbs. Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, stretching, twisting, reaching and climbing. Ability to drive/travel long distances of 5 hours plus. Ability to drive in various weather conditions for long periods of time and in various demographic areas. Must be able to access interior and exterior landscapes. Ability to access different levels of terrain while performing duties Job Specific Technical Competencies Perform Preventive Maintenance Checks in the customer's home. Ride with or meet Break/Fix Technician at designated locations to assist with on service calls when assigned Shuttle parts and supplies to Break/Fix Technician when applicable Work as a dedicated team member to ensure fast, flexible and expert service to every customer Follow the Value Added Services Process (i.e., selling extended warranties, water filters, generating customer interest in new HVAC systems as appropriate, etc.) by effectively communicating the benefits to the customer Maintain the highest level of service standards and have open communication with District Technical Production Manager to assist as needed with resolving customer issues Recognize and act upon every opportunity to drive revenue through the Value Added Services Program (VASP). Continuously look for methods to improve business performance and enhance the customer experience Maintain truck stock inventory and maintenance schedules are within the company guideline (i.e. wash truck weekly, oil changes etc.) and insure tools and equipment are in safe operating condition. Adhere to all company policies and procedures Successfully complete all Technician training elements within required timeframes Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned Years Experience 0 - 1 Years Experience Preferred Minimum Education High School / GED
