Overview:
GVG (Global Valuations Group) is a centralised function within Finance responsible for the independent valuation of trading positions for the Global Markets / Global Banking businesses. There are teams based in London, New York and Asia. GVG comprises Rates, Credit, Equities, Emerging Markets, Methodology and Reporting.
The GVG Structured Credit team covers a range of Credit products ranging from vanilla liquid instruments to more complex structured and exotic transactions. The team in London is currently comprised of 8 valuation specialists with support offshore.
Key Responsibilities:
Running month end valuation review process of Consumer and Residential Whole Loan Pools, performing and non-performing
Review of credit underwriting process and reflection of credit risk opinions in valuation process
Datatape and business plan review
Analysis of models supporting projections and back-testing of historic projections
Tracking and Assessment of Servicers
Watchlist management for large loans, servicers, and pool performance
Significant interaction with CFO functions, Loan Pool Traders, and Risk Management discussing the results of the month end processes
Project work as required on new systems and functionality enhancements
Improve efficiency by challenging processes and procedures
You will have:
Strong understanding of the valuation of loan pools or ABS
Good analytical and modelling skills to support a valuation judgement
Motivation to change and improve existing processes
Confidence to constructively engage traders on valuation control results and methods
Ability to communicate clearly the drivers behind risk and valuation trends
Strong mathematical skills quantitative skills
Knowledge of Excel (i.e. VBA, pivots, macros, etc)
Experience of using market data providers (Bloomberg, Reuters…)
Attention to detail
Ability to work in a team, and take responsibility for own work
Interest in increasing product knowledge
Ability to liaise and communicate clearly within Finance and with the Business
