Pricing Analyst recruitment
Day-to-day price validation will be shared among teams in North America and London while local activities will be focussed on managing market data feeds, our relationships with providers, oversight of third party administrators and local pricing governance activities. A major strategic project to build and implement a global in-house Pricing system is being launched and so experience of working on a similar project would be beneficial.
Given the changing approach in the department we are looking for someone that clearly demonstrates a pro-active approach to their role. Attention to detail and an in-depth knowledge of how equity pricing is calculated would be ideal. We would like someone to be accountable for the range of pricing activities, and to identify problems that can be resolved, as well as issues that require escalation to the team manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively monitor market and macro-economic news to identify potential issues that may impact securities valuation
- Research background information required and generate recommendations for fair valuation of hard to price securities
- Assist in Third Party Administrator oversight
- Assist in the documentation of good faith pricing procedures and reports and any other pricing issues
- Prepare reports and answer queries relating to fund audits
- Answer queries from Invesco staff such as Fund Accountants, compliance specialists, auditors and Investments personnel
- Complete special projects as required
- Conduct backtesting and use secondary sources to validate prices sourced internally and by third party administrators
- Review exchange rates for accuracy
- Assist in the completion of all periodic reporting requirements
- Contribute to the improvement of the daily pricing process
- Develop relationship with pricing vendors to provide support with various pricing issues
Experience:
- Ideally someone with existing experience in a similar role, or from within a Fund Accounting role
- Must have a solid understanding of accounting and financial principles as it applies to daily pricing and various reporting requirements
- Ideal candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or related business subjects
- Working knowledge of using market data services such as Bloomberg, Reuters, IDC or Markit
- Interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with a variety of individuals are required.
- Must have strong analytical skills in order to handle a variety of pricing issues including but not limited to foreign currency translations, futures, option and swap contracts and corporate actions related items.
- Must have the ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and concentrate on detailed information.
- Must demonstrate initiative in actively pursuing solutions to pricing issues.
- Must be able to utilize computer equipment and software, specifically spread sheet and database applications.
- The ability to contribute in a team environment is critical.
- Must also be able to work under pressure and make quick, sound decisions.
