The Pricing Director Actuary is responsible for providing actuarial direction regarding the healthcare reform initiatives. This individual will provide actuarial direction regarding the strategy to the actuarial pricing team that supports managed care rate development for a variety of programs. They will lead actuarial analysis and services in support of medical analysis, trend projections, and rate negotiations. The Pricing Director Actuary will oversee and analyze financial and claims data to evaluate utilization and unit price trends.
Other responsibilities:
-Design and oversee ad hoc health cost analyses.
-Develop and implement pricing strategies related to PPACA.
-Price products consistent with financial and business objectives.
-Balance growth and profitability goals to maximum results.
-Assist and participate in negotiations and presentations where appropriate.
-Responsible for developing the organization's premium rate structure through the forecasting of financial/statistical data in a manner which is actuarially sound and competitive in the marketplace.

- Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Finance, Actuarial Science or related field
- Actuarial designation (ASA or FSA)
- 8+ years of previous experience actuarial experience
- Prior health actuarial experience
- Excellent quantitative, problem solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written
- Strong project management skills
- At least an intermediate level of proficiency in Excel preferred
