Pricing Operations Manager

A rare opportunity has arisen at a leading commodities trading business for a Pricing Operations Manager.

The team is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely valuation of all complex physical deals for Settlement purposes. The team itself is 10 people strong and although based in London, it also manages valuations for the Singapore and Chicago Oil Trading Teams as well as Oil Gas in London.

As well as being responsible for the operational aspects of running the team, a large part of the manager's role will be to increase the commercial awareness of the business. This means a big focus on strategy and relationship management.

The individual will be responsible for:

Ensure smooth operation of daily activities, delivering against KPI targets.
Developing capability within the team, through a focus on effective recruitment, on-boarding, current process documentation and ongoing people development.
Pro-actively managing relationships with global stakeholders.
Engaging with the broader finance community in the monthly improvement forum.
Identifying and implementing CI opportunities within the Pricing and broader Settlements Team, focussing on increased Control, Performance and Efficiency.

Candidate requirements:

Previous team management experience essential
Accounting/Finance background, preferably in an oil Commodity Trading environment
Accountancy Qualification preferred but not essential
Ability to read and interpret complex commercial agreements
Understand trading concepts (exposure, MTM PL etc)
Understanding Oil Trading Principles (Physical Delivery/inco terms, Formula Priced Commercial agreements)
