Pricing Specialist recruitment
Under Koch’s leadership, the company has become the world’s largest marketer of petroleum coke and calcined coke – a key ingredient in the manufacturing of aluminum. The company trades in other carbon and industrial products such as coal, gypsum, metcoke, anthracite and activated carbon. Oxbow Carbon also owns and operates one of the most productive underground coal mines in the United States, producing nearly five million tons of super-compliant coal annually.
Role and Responsibilities
Oxbow Commercial Risk Management Department measures, monitors, reports and controls Oxbow’s market risks and exposures. We are looking to hire a Pricing Specialist within our department. The position reports directly to the Director of Risk Management. The duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Monitoring on a daily basis the newly published price-index values from the specified sources
- Updating newly published price-index values in the Company’s information systems as they are published
- Reviewing the requests for new price indices to be added to the set of indices upon which contractual pricing may be based and submitting such requests for approval within a specified timeframe
- Creating newly approved price indices in the Company’s information systems
- Maintaining the most recent Commercial Risk Management Authorized Price Indices Document that establishes the published indices
- Maintaining an up-to-date copy of the Authorized Price Indices Document on the Commercial Risk Management Website
- Centrally managing the subscriptions and renewals of the publication sources for product prices on a consistent basis
- Supporting the Commercial Authority Limit Documents Process by managing up-to-date versions of the documents
- Fulfilling other Commercial Risk Management activities including creating and compiling data/information and documenting contracts and policies
- Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- A thorough understanding or desire to learn published price indices and periodic publications covering products traded and/or produced by Oxbow
- Quantitative skills in analyzing and summarizing data
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- High level of accuracy
- Ability to deliver against tight deadlines and work extra hours as needed
- Attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Organized, efficient, and able to work independently with limited supervision
Education and experience
- 4-year college degree
