Pricing Specialists (Consultant to Director) – Modelling & Analytics

Our Analytics business uses data and analytics to help clients perform better. We view analytics with a 'business' lens and appreciate that technology is just one, equally important, component of sustainable performance along with strategy, organisation, people and process. Our team utilises a broad range of modelling and analytics products and techniques to add value to our clients' pricing strategies, while linking insights to real value through tactical operational opportunities and recommendations.
With clients across Financial Services, Retail Consumer, Energy Utilities, Healthcare Government, our pricing team is fast establishing itself in the market as a go-to group to address a range of tactical and strategic opportunities. This team covers everything from pricing strategy to process controls and systems, and puts our clients' information at the heart of the programme development process. The focus of this team is pricing and pricing-related profitability insight development and strategy execution.
Due to rapid team growth we currently require experienced pricing professionals at all levels to join our dynamic team. This emerging pricing team will form part of our existing Modelling Analytics capability group and will focus on solving major pricing and profitability issues with our broad range of ASX200 and government clients.
The activities expected in these roles will include (junior to senior progressively):
- Cleansing data through industry standard techniques across a range of sources using tools such as spreadsheets, databases and data visualisation tools.
- Performing rigorous pricing analysis to determine issues with a focus on care and attention to detail to ensure robust inferences are made.
- Rapid prototyping of models and tools to repeat analysis on a regular basis while long term solutions are designed or procured.
- Achieving project quality, client feedback, innovation and financial targets to grow both personal and team success.
- Providing insights into the tools available to support long term management of pricing in our client organisations.
- Managing complex projects both from a financial and operational perspective, and inspiring, leading and contributing to dynamic teams from across PwC and its clients to deliver market-leading outcomes.
- Championing innovation across PwC and linking with both local and international teams to drive the pricing competency group forward.
- Bring agility for hypothesising value-based projects that will benefit our clients, and engaging stakeholders at all levels.
- Present and engage to C-suite and board level with high impact.
To be successful in these positions you will have (at entry level) at least 2 years experience in analytical role linked to pricing, ideally within a Consulting organisation. More senior roles will require an additional 3-5 years of detailed pricing experience, covering all aspects of pricing including stakeholders, strategy and solutions. You will have a commercial and strategic mindset when it comes to business, and be exceptional at problem solving through innovative solutions.
Your interpersonal and communication skills as well as the ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders with ease will secure your success within these positions. Experience within Government, Financial Services, Energy and/or Retail industries would be highly regarded. Exposure to operating within Excel, is essential, with more technical roles also requiring VBA, SAS or SQL. Ability to use Tableau or similar products to produce high impact presentations and analyses is preferred.
