The Business Operations and Strategy team at Google plays a critical role in defining and driving strategic, operational, and organizational improvements across the company. Founded in 2003, BizOps is a high-profile, high-impact team working with Google's businesses across the globe. BizOps works on a range of critical projects and issues -- from growth strategies for exciting products like YouTube, Chrome, and Mobile; to engineering prioritization and global sales force alignment; to partner development and strategy work in emerging markets such as Africa and India. As a member of the BizOps team, you are at the forefront in helping Google clarify fast-moving strategic priorities, tackle operational challenges, and enable innovation.
The role: Pricing Strategy Associate
As part of the Business Operations and Strategy Pricing team, you will drive initiatives with cross-functional teams, supporting the senior leadership at Google to craft innovative pricing strategies for new and established products. In this role you will bring analytical rigor, strategic insights and business judgment to pricing discussions. In addition, you will immerse yourself in data to draw out key insights and to persuasively communicate recommendations to senior-level executives and help drive key product and sales operational decisions.
As an Associate in Business Operations and Strategy, you are the ultimate data expert and thrive on solving highly analytical problems, conducting interviews and synthesizing ideas. You will work with a small team on initiatives commissioned by Google's executive team, managing your own workstream(s) as you go.
Responsibilities:
- Structure complex, ambiguous, and potentially charged business issues for Google's executive team.
- Gather and analyze massive amounts of information expeditiously.
- Build analytical models to inform and influence pricing discussions.
- Develop compelling, insightful recommendations.
- Build consensus among cross-functional teams and influence decision making within senior-level audiences.
Minimum Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree (In lieu of degree, 4 years relevant work experience).
- 2 years of experience at a management consulting firm, corporate strategy organization, or investment bank.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 6 years of relevant experience, with a technology focus.
- Experience conducting Pricing analysis.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills and impeccable business judgment, with professional distinction in thought leadership and innovation.
- Strong modeling and presentation skills, experience and comfort with statistical modeling packages, and comfort with large datasets.
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to be personable yet persistent.
