A key objective of this role is to bridge the gap between the client's requirements and the technical delivery team, and help to successfully deliver projects within this diverse and challenging space. The role requires an enthusiastic self-starter who wants to deliver quality solutions by employing business analysis best practices and functional domain knowledge.
 
The Business Analyst/Project Manager will be required to perform tasks on the following aspects of the project lifecycle:
• Project Initiation (project scoping and planning)
• Business Analysis (requirements gathering and documentation)
• Functional Design (preparation and documentation of Functional Specifications and Use Cases)
• Technical Design (review of Technical Specifications)
• Test planning, preparation and execution (preparation of system and integration test plans, test cases and test progress reporting)
• Facilitating UAT and User Integration
 
Summary:
The Lead Business Analyst/Project Manager is responsible for guiding and leading teams in the review and analysis of requirements and requests that come from areas of the business, operations and additional users of IT services. The Lead Business Analyst provides the link between business divisions and technology solution providers for all aspects of finding and maintaining IT solutions in cooperation with Architecture, Application Management and the Professional Services Unit (PSU). Lead Business Analysts focus on client relationship management and providing internal clients with accurate reporting of service level agreements, key performance indicators (KPIs) and operating level agreements with other areas in IT.
 
Responsibilities:
 
• Work with Project Managers, Development Leads, Technical Architects, and IT vendor teams
• Work with the GPF project process covering all business aspects from requirements gathering through implementation.
• Establish a relationship with the Product Development group, business users and delivery teams.
• Conduct requirements gathering, business analysis, functional design, system and integration testing.
• Ensure that specific project deliverables are produced on time in accordance with the project plan and make sure that all relevant parties are informed of progress.
• Maintain a quality control process and ensure that project deliverables meet the required quality standards.
• Monitor risks and issues for a project’s successful outcome.
• Report project progress at regular intervals to management and produce key documentation for distribution.
• Continuously look to enhance the BA Team’s best practices with new tools and techniques.
 
Tasks
• Collects and defines business requirements in partnership and collaboration with the business.
• Work with Domain Managers to ensure consistent use and implementation of processes.
• Works in close collaboration with functional analysts and application owners as the business/functional counterpart in solution identification and maintenance.
• Supports the design and conceptualization of new business solution options and articulates impacts and risks, as identified.
• Prepares and creates business case(s) outlining cost impacts and value drivers of proposed solutions.
• Responsible for gaining agreement on solution business requirements with (domain) architects.
• Prepares and documents feasibility studies and estimates.
• Participate in the creation of Terms of Reference (ToR) documents and other related material for projects.
• Supports the user acceptance testing (UAT) strategy of the business.
• Supports the Business Analyst and/or Domain Manager on the prioritization of change requests.
• Acts as an escalation point for solution issues in the Production environment and during projects.
• Partners with the business to design effective processes.
• Collaborates with Application/Service Owners as the Process Manager counterpart in the management of services (Business Process Management) such as requests, optimizations, etc.
• Owns and manages process repository and is responsible for maintenance of all processes in the domain/sub-domain (Business Process Management).
 
Experience | Exposure (Recommended):
 
• Business Analyst experience (5 or more years)
• Equities, Securities Lending or Prime Brokerage experience and domain knowledge preferable.
• Business Analysis or Project Management qualification (CBAP/PMI etc) is highly desirable.
• Ability to think strategically and lead the implementation of new systems to meet business needs
• Strong work ethics, detail oriented and good interpersonal skills
• Ability to liaise with senior GME Technology managers and product leads.
• Excellent communication skills and good analytical problem solving skills; Ability to effectively work with clients and vendors in a multi-cultural, smart sourced environment.
 
Education | Certification (Recommended):
• Masters Degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in Business, Economics or Computer Science (or similar qualification/equivalent work experience)
