Prime Brokerage Legal Counsel recruitment

Responsibilities:

Negotiation of relevant master agreements with prime services clients (including the prime services addendum, ISDA master agreement, GMSLA, GMRAs and FOAs) and to assist in providing first class legal advice to the newly established prime services businesses.
Provide legal advice, guidance and support in assigned areas within the Global Markets business to ensure that the Group's exposure to legal risk is managed
Act as primary legal adviser to the Prime Services business in the Asia Pacific region and to also provide support to other business areas (such as Equity Finance and Futures) when required;
Be a trusted adviser to the business by ensuring that commercially sensitive, pragmatic and practical legal support and advice is provided in a cost-effective manner for assigned areas;
Maintain and develop positive and professional working relationships with all team members within the Global Banking Markets legal department, and business departments for which the jobholder is responsible
Participate effectively as part of the Global Banking Markets legal team.
Share legal knowledge and best practices with legal colleagues.
May manage internal support staff as appropriate

Requirements:

Qualified Lawyer
Have experience of the prime services/brokerage and/or hedge fund market and the legal issues and transactions relevant thereto, particularly as they relate to clients assets and collateral arrangements
Have knowledge of relevant agreements (including the prime services addendum, ISDA master agreements, GMSLAs,GMRAs and FOAs)
Have strong drafting and negotiating skills
Ability to prioritise
Communication and inter-personal skills
Developing lateral thinking/problem solving skills
