Prime Brokerage Operations, Derivatives (Temp) recruitment
This is a TEMPORARY position
The individual needs to learn front to back trade flows across various asset classes and would be expected to rapidly gain a detailed understanding of internal capabilities in order to manage and facilitate client requests for new business, changes to existing business and the day to day support of existing high profile accounts. .
The individual will be required to establish and maintain close working relationships at all levels, with both Sales and Support Staff (e.g. Credit, Finance, Market Risk, Legal IT, Global Operations) - allowing for an integrated and proactive approach to the business’ requirements.
Requirements
• Bachelor degree or higher with emphasis on Finance and/or Accounting, Business Management.
• General understanding of the Financial Services Industry is preferred
• Strong desire to learn new products and processes with strong work ethics
• Require good communication skills both internally between operations and front office as well as dealing with client support teams/back office
• Strong analytical skills
• Good computer skills including Microsoft products: Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint
• Very good interpersonal skills
• Understanding of the various OTC interest rate derivative products, Swaptions, Collateralized Debt Securities (CDS) is a plus.
• Knowledge of Markitwire a plus
Responsibilities
• Work within the Prime Brokerage Rates Middle Office providing support across various interest rate derivative products. The individual should have the ability to develop product and trade life cycle knowledge across these asset classes with hands-on experience of trade processing, exception management and resolution of client queries
• Assist with the integration of new client structures, client on-boarding and ad-hoc project management duties into the Middle Office workflows, designing new flows as required.
• The ability to learn and process complex client trade novation events, option exercise/assignment and expiries as well as coordinate efforts across the global operational centers as required
• A good understanding of the principles of PL, risk, portfolio management, collateral, confirmations and settlements is a plus
• Constantly review the quality of trade/client support processes and associated technology in pursuit of increased control, efficiency and client satisfaction.
• Learn products and life cycle processes to build out current infrastructure in US and liaise with EMEA and APAC centers to achieve global alignment and best practice
