Investment bank is looking for a prime brokerage risk specialist to help manage hedge fund clients for the group

- Base salary - $100,000 - $120,000 + up to 30% bonus
Prime Brokerage Risk Management is responsible for managing and monitoring exposure to hedge fund PB clients. This includes monitoring of current clients margin loan exposure, assessing the risk of new business lines, and developing methodologies to improve portfolio lending activity. The client list of Prime Brokerage is constantly evolving with existing and new clients pursuing new strategies and trading new securities.
Individuals must perpetually maintain their understanding of market dynamic, their knowledge of new products and awareness of market risks across both Equity and Fixed Income.
The risk specialist in the prime brokerage team will have the following responsibilities:
- Develop/automate processes for monitoring existing clients
- Improve methods for reporting client risk
- Take responsibility for a subset of clients
- Maintain attentiveness to markets and knowledge of PB exposure
- Raising concerns and recommendations to management
The ideal candidate will have the following background and skill set
- Significant financial services experience or graduate level finance degree
- Proficiency with Excel
- Programming experience, particularly with knowledge of VBA
- Ability to communicate effectively and willingness to voice opinions
- Interested in making business decisions
- Good presentation skills
- Additional technical skills such as database experience (Access) or other programming languages

- Prime Brokerage risk/margin experience or several years working on a trading desk
- Knowledge of Equity and /or Fixed Income strategies would be a differentiator.
This position is an excellent opportunity to expand into the prime brokerage risk space from a market risk background. The bank has invested an extensive amount of money into this area and is looking to add this key hire to their already successful team.
