Prime Services Support Analyst, Investment Banking recruitment
This role provides the opportunity to be part of a global program that spans multiple lines of business within the Investment Bank. As part of the IB technology group, the Prime Services Production Management teams' goal is to be the single point of contact for all technology problems experienced by the prime services business which includes Broker Dealer, Equity Finance, OTC clearing and FO ExtraClear business. Co-located with the client relationship managers you will be an integral part of delivering our technology capability to the external Prime Services client base.
Skills
- Develop strong working relationships with the business and aligned application and infrastructure support teams to assist in support issue prioritization
- Provide strong problem management and coordination discipline with inherent capability to perform issue investigation and resolution across wide range of Prime Services Applications
- Build up an extensive and practical understanding of Prime Services Applications as well as a general end-user understanding in key and critical LOB applications
- Perform timely escalation of critical production incidents and proactively identify patterns of recurring incidents to improve service stability
- In addition to daily support activities work with the operate control manager to deliver on tasks to improve service capabilities across Prime Services Applications technology and championed LOB applications
- Develop and utilize core support tools and processes to perform work whilst improving day to day practices for support team members with the goal of delivering service improvements to the business
- Maintain documentation on issue corrective actions in-line with best practice to ensure knowledge accessibility and continuous learning amongst team
- Partner in application deployment activities working closely with technology development teams to ensure standard support criteria are met prior to implementation
- Participate in the support Rota to ensure adequate business support coverage during core hours (07:30 - 19:00) Provide additional cover out of hours for deployment and continuity test activities.
Desired Skills
Product knowledge of Credit Derivatives, OTC Clearing business or Future option business
- Experience of working in front office trading environment
- Excellent communication skills and confidence in high pressure environment
- Ability to multitask and work effectively under extreme pressure and stress
- Ability to lead and drive multiple tasks concurrently
- Incident Management experience essential
Tech or App Experience
Basic SQL - Should be able to query database (Oracle, Sybase), understand the code and at times suggest changes/improvements
- UNIX - Basic understanding of UNIX commands and should be able use them to look at logs and other server based service. Should be able to debug/write shell scripts.
- JAVA - Coding/Debugging experience. Should be able to look at logs to debug issues.
- Knowledge of any application server - preference is IBM websphere portal
- Knowledge of Cluster Architecture environment
