Unified Storage Division Within EMC, the Unified Storage Division (USD) is one of EMC?s fastest growing Business Units. It?s new, award-winning entry (VNXe) and midrange (VNX) storage solutions have taken the market by storm, garnering over 20 industry awards and have bolstered EMC?s #1 position in mid-tier storage according to IDC. They offer record-breaking simplicity, efficiency and performance for virtualized application environments including those from Microsoft, Oracle, VMWare, and Citrix. Manages multiple highly complex, high profile technical projects and initiatives. The Principal Program Manager is responsible for the development of a project/program implementation plan that articulates how new functionality for Unified Storage Division?s (USD?s) VNX and VNXe products will be designed and developed. This role requires a solid background in engineering with the ability to negotiate, influence and manage cross functional teams. It also requires executive presence, ability to shift context, multitask and manage at multiple levels of the organization. A record of leading development, test efforts and working in a fast-paced, fast-growth industry is a MUST. Principal Duties and Responsibilities ? Works with moderate guidance and is responsible for applying project management knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to a project?s deliverables and process improvement initiatives. ? Operates within defined parameters using the PM Methodology ? Defines problem solving/risk mitigation strategies, and facilitates conflict resolution · Extensive project management skills with experience in Agile Development and Waterfall methodologies · Prepares detailed project plans within the standards of project management best practices Required Skills ? Demonstrated application of project management methodologies ? Must be able to communicate at all organizational levels ? Knowledge or experience with PM, documentation and reporting tools ? Capable of coordinating work activities over multiple organizations ? Ability to control and direct work over multiple, regional and geographic locations ? Understands SDLC models ? Excellent written and oral communication skills ? Excellent knowledge of product life cycle, tools, processes and operational planning ? PMP Certification and/or Six Sigma Certification required · Worked with large development organizations · Ability to prioritize projects and deliverables · Ability to lead, motivate and direct a workgroup · Ability to work effectively with senior management Education/Experience level · Bachelor?s Degree required plus 5+ years relevant experience.
