Principal, BI Architect

Job Description:
BSC Information Systems is a key player in setting the strategic direction of BSC. Through the introduction of innovative and emerging technologies, BSC IS professionals are partnering with their business counterparts to drive BSC’s competitive advantage in the marketplace and to deliver world class medical devices and therapies to patients worldwide.

The Principal Business Intelligence Architect has overall responsibility for driving best practice for BI application architecture, design, development, maintenance, and support for existing and new business applications and process solutions for a multi-billion dollar, global organization. This position will partner with various IS and Business key decision makers to assess design needs, determine appropriate delivery, methodology and identify resource requirements for each of these systems.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and mentor other team members or business/functional application owners
Lead the installation of new software releases, systems upgrades, evaluation and installation of patches, and resolution of software related problems.

Lead in identifying hardware, software, and process solutions for business imperatives.
Lead development teams in improving and developing business processes.
Interact with multiple functional groups to understand and business needs, architect technical options, make recommendations that return business value, and serve as the technical leader in data technologies.

Maintain compliance with corporate and regulatory standards and policies.
Manage system performance, system configuration, and data files
Ensure data integrity with proper application of BSC security standards.
Perform project management tasks as required.
Participate on cross-functional project teams.

Quality Systems Duties and Responsibilities

Build Quality into all aspects of their work by maintaining compliance to all quality requirements.

Provide best practice in software development methodologies.

Job Experience:
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or MBA (preferred) in Information Systems or equivalent experience
7-10 years of experience in BI software analysis, design, development and programming and or COTS software experience.
1-3 years project management experience; strong leadership and communication skills
Experience with BI technologies and tools, such as: SAP BW/BI, Business Objects
Experience in developing and executing BI strategy – aligning technology to business needs

· Experience with Oracle, Informatica, SQL Server 2005
· Experience in conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling

Experience with Microsoft SQL or Oracle database systems preferred.
