Principal Business Systems Analyst (Index and Fund Ops)
As part of Investment Advisor Solutions within the Fixed Income Technology group, the Business Systems Analyst role is to liaise with one or more investment teams, leverage domain expertise and analysis skills to field and identify new business requirements, and actively work with development teams to drive solution delivery to the business.
In this role, the incumbent will support the Fixed Income Division's efforts in the area of index and fund operations, and will own the relationship with the business as it relates to new technology solutions, including support of new fund launches and fund changes, new index portfolios and related data procurement needed for benchmarking, and new instrument coverage and mastering in the context of the portfolio management toolset as a whole.
Primary Responsibilities
- Pro-actively engages investment professionals and other business partners in an effort to develop and manage a relationship whereby new technology needs are most easily discovered, prioritized, and expectations regarding delivery can be managed
- Determines objectives by studying business/operational functions, gathering and documenting requirements, and understands the significance of requirements in the domain, such as those related to the operational aspect of the investment process, in the context fixed income portfolios
- Lends domain expertise to validation and testing efforts as needed, and influences testing to ensure business needs are satisfied
- Pro-actively evaluates business systems and identifies needed improvements in the context of business needs, either current or planned, and works closely with development to design of new solutions, or the redesign existing ones, to deliver domain-sensible results
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree, in either a financial discipline (ideal) or computer science
- Master's Degree in related field preferred
- Prior success building and/or working with technology supporting font office data operations, index data and data providers, security mastering, and an expert-level working knowledge thereof.

- Adept at converting business needs into comprehensive business requirements, and can effectively collaborate with a technology product manager for oversight and direction
- Aptitude towards and experience with iterative development processes designed to generate frequent feedback business partners and stakeholders
- Builds effective relationships to influence and drive change.
- Demonstrates ability adjust to multiple demands, priorities, and rapid change.
