Liberty International Underwriters Information Technology division is actively searching for an experienced Principal Business Systems Analyst.  In this role you will use your business and technical knowledge to participate in the re-engineering of business operations to improve business results.  You will evaluate business requirements and model data and/or system requirements.  You will analyze and document business problems, develop test plans, and test and approve new system behaviors.  You will coordinate upgrades and rollouts of moderate scope.

Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborates with business executives on the definition of business vision, objectives transformation plans and opportunities for competitive advantage.
  2. Acts as migration planning consultant and architecture guide to business management; acts as prioritization consultant to Systems and business management; contributes to organization design and trading partner negotiations; initiates strategic partnerships between vendors, business partners and Systems.
  3. Performs or directs research on industry trends, business products and competitors; analyzes trends and is responsible for strategic and tactical recommendations; partners with technology peers to research and recommend technology investments to achieve desired return on Investment; analyze feasibility, cost ramifications, economies, or other aspects of large or complex programs.
  4. Analyzes highly complex business issues to contribute to the development of the business plan.
  5. Directly responsible for projects or subprojects of significant complexity; leads projects including developing project plans, assigning tasks and facilitating team process; provides input to performance appraisals; may write appraisals under direct supervision of manager.
  6. Depicts highly complex ideas, issues and designs to varied audiences; communicates project objectives, scope and direction across project teams; broadly responsible for education within Systems on business vision and plan and within Systems and business units on impact of change.
  7. Guides the development of business practices and reengineering methods and standards based on vision and plan; coordinates the development of business architectures.
  8. Works with other departments to coordinate interdepartmental activities in order to ensure that Liberty meets customer expectations.  Assists in problem resolution as needed to ensure that internal and external customers receive prompt, efficient service in accordance with company policies.
  9. Performs special projects as requested.
