Posted Position Title: Principal Engineer - Aeromechanics / Aeroelasticity Career Level: Experienced Function Engineering/Technology Function Segment: Product Design and Development Location: United States U.S. State, China or Canada Provinces: Massachusetts City: Lynn Postal Code: 01910-0002 Relocation Assistance Yes Role Summary/Purpose: The Principal Engineer will execute the Aeromechanics analysis, design, test and integration required to define and support the assigned components, assemblies, and systems that meet business standards, practices and procedures, and the product program requirements. Significant experience in turbomachinery, vibration, blade design, engine testing and instrumentation planning, airfoil stress and vibration analysis, airfoil component dynamic test, high cycle fatigue analysis. Essential Responsibilities - Develop technical capabilities concurrent with execution of position responsibilities - Document technical data generated to substantiate the assigned components, assemblies and / or systems consistent with engineering policies and procedures - Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments - Participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues - Participate as a presenter in technical and program reviews - Be responsible for Aeromechanical analysis, design, test and integration of fan, compressor, and turbine blading - Participate in advancing the state of the art and establishing best practices in blading design and analysis including dynamic analysis, forced response, damping, stress measurement, certification programs, and field problem resolution - Support team oriented design activities and engineering investigations - Possess the know how to approach design and field problems involving vibration and fatigue, utilize risk management, and recommend / implement actions for robust, economical and timely solutions - Document technical data to substantiate blading designs, analyses, and test results Qualifications/Requirements: - Bachelors Degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited college or university - Minimum of 10 years of Applied Aeromechanics design experience Additional Eligibility Qualifications GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening.
