That's why we're here. Responsible for Systems Engineering and design of T-Mobile's Radio Access Network. Perform feasibility analysis of new technologies, products, features and services. Create functional designs, deployment procedures, and operational processes. Support Lab and FOA validation of new features/services/platforms to ensure successful deployment and effective operations. Principal Engineer, System Design Strategy is a key technical leadership position required to do in depth analysis (both fiscal and technical) and design of new features and technologies. Lead cross functional technical projects to achieve business results and mentor junior engineers. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Roadmap/Vendor Management: Collect and strategically align requirements from peer teams and drive vendor Roadmap to ensure T-Mobile requirements are adequately met and close any gaps. Drive vendors for timely delivery of SW/HW and system features per T-Mobile requirements. 2. Functional, Deployment, and Operational Design: Create functional network designs, MOPs, and standard operational processes to achieve optimum fit, integration, and operations efficiency. Provide network design documents as required for new system(s) and feature(s) deployment. 3. Support Network Validation: Develop lab and FOA test plans for new major releases and key features. Support the feature verification in lab and FOA when design level support is required. Sign-off on exception and approve the design. 4. Technical Leadership: Monitor relevant industry technologies and standards. Develop and drive solutions for efficient and effective network operations procedures and issues. Document technical feasibility options/impacts via research and analysis. Coach T-Mobile leadership on technology decisions. Create and deliver technical training. Teach and guide other engineers. Create RFI/RFP/RFQ for new technology, evaluate responses, obtain inputs from cross functional teams, make and present recommendations to peers and executive team. 5. Management of technical evolution: Manage the short, medium and longer term technology evolution plans of the Radio Access Network.
