Within the Regional Quality Center Europe (RQC-E) there are three departments responsible for providing services to the different NXP business lines and fabs. The principal Electrical Failure Analysis engineer position is within the Failure Analysis Department. Our experts can perform failure analysis on all NXP products; Discrete, Bipolar, BiCMOS, Logic, RF, ABCD-SOI and CMOS processes with analogue, digital and embedded volatile and non-volatile memories down to 65 nm technology.
The EFA Engineer is responsible for performing electrical failure analysis and characterization of IC’s with the emphasis on hardware-based device fault localization on packaged devices and wafer level failures.
The EFA engineer should be able to work independently, but also to interface with peers in product, test, design and process engineering. Understanding of mixed signal IC design, test, schematics and layouts as well as experience with analogue blocks is required as well as knowledge of advanced IC processes and non-volatile memories.
Responsibilities should include not only the use of existing and available equipment, techniques and methods, but also development of new methods and techniques.
Academic level, Masters or PhD Electronics / Technical Sciences. Experience with and knowledge of mixed signal designs and advanced IC processes is required. Hands-on experience and – mentality is needed. Good organizational skills and high level of independence. Analytical thinker and problem solver. Creative, taking initiative, high drive and result oriented. Strong in communication, interaction, presentation and reporting. Ambition to become a specialist in this area.
