Principal Failure Analysis (FA) Engineer Job in Providence 02903, Rhode Island US
Responsibilities:
• We are looking for a strong engineer who can perform both physical electrical analysis of defective products from external customers and in-house testing, manufacturing, or evaluations groups.
• Works with appropriate process, design, manufacturing groups to identify defect root cause determine corrective action.
• Communicates progress/results directly to customers and other groups/departments internally.
• Often times, will collaborate with internal/external labs in materials analysis
• Ensures that analytical capabilities techniques meet industry standards (e.g. JEDEC) and customer requirements while driving toward “world-class" standards practices.
• Distributes reports that track failure modes, root causes, mechanisms of defects since
our product is assembled tested onsite, as well as reporting on those products that have failed in the field.
• Meet failure analysis (FA) cycle time requirements as set
Requirements:
• BSEE or equivalent with at least 10 years directly related experience.
• Familiarity with Semiconductor assembly manufacturing including PCB-based products
• Requires expert knowledge in many aspects of the physics of failure of PCB’s, IC’s, /or electronic components.
• Strong knowledge of integrated circuits (ICs), PCBs, components, manufacturing/assembly processes
• Proven experience using state-of-the-art failure analysis (FA) methods techniques
• Experience using a wide variety of diagnostic equipment such as CSAM, SEM, EDS, Bench Test equipment, Plasma Etcher, Xray, etc.
• Ability to lead a team and coordinate resources to meet customer responsiveness metrics.
• Ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of internal/external customers and/or suppliers
• Experience working with the following applications: MS Project, MS Office, MS Visio in generating reports, capturing, and presenting data in a user-friendly format
