Do you want to lead the development of the next generation of producible software systems, self-aware software architectures, and advanced system integration infrastructure? Do you want to build the next generation, provably secure, host computer architecture? Can you help us develop and exploit model-based and domain specific language approaches to software system construction?
BAE System's Technology Solutions group in Burlington, MA is exploiting formal methods and advanced software construction techniques in the execution of a portfolio of related research projects. For example, we are leading the SAFE project sponsored by DARPA's CRASH (Clean-slate design of Resilient Adaptive Secure Hosts) program. SAFE is a once in a lifetime opportunity to redesign the client computing stack from the hardware through the operating system and up to new application programming languages.
You will collaborate with university research groups and lead multi-disciplinary and multi-organizational teams in execution of complex software platform development projects. As a Principal Investigator you will shape significant research agendas, communicate value propositions and goals to customers and partners, develop technology product lines and prepare proposals to continue development of ambitious leading edge capabilities.

Required Skills:
You must have experience in one or more of the following technical areas: compilers, parallel computing, programming languages, secure and resilient computing, computer architecture, and tools development. Qualified candidates will typically have doctoral level education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence or other related Computer Engineering field and at least 7 years of research / advanced development experience, a successful record of proposal authoring, and project leadership/management experience. Writing and presentation skills are a must, as is the desire to develop research programs via proposal writing and other marketing efforts with research funding agencies such as DARPA.
