BAE System's Technology Solutions group in Burlington, MA is developing prototype systems that harness today's unprecedented volume of available digital data, to better understand situations in any part of the world, using imagery, social networks, news feeds, etc. We are developing new approaches to automated planning that allow human planners to understand and assess many more potential futures than ever before, even as the state of the world evolves. And we are exploring virtual reality as a medium for human-machine and human-human interaction, collaboration, and analysis.

You will collaborate with university research groups and lead multi-disciplinary and multi-organizational teams in execution of complex research and development projects. As a Principal Investigator you will shape significant research agendas, communicate value propositions and goals to customers and partners, develop technology product lines and prepare proposals to continue development of ambitious leading edge capabilities.

Required Skills:
You will have experience in one or more of the following technical areas: symbolic and/or probabilistic reasoning, knowledge representation, hybrid reasoning, qualitative reasoning, and cognitive modeling.

Qualified candidates will have doctoral level education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence or other related Computer Engineering field and at least 7 years of research / advanced development experience, a successful record of proposal authoring, and project leadership/management experience. Writing and presentation skills are a must, as is the desire to develop research programs via proposal writing and other marketing efforts with research funding agencies such as DARPA.

Preferred Skills:
DARPA program capture, symbolic and/or probabilistic reasoning, knowledge representation, hybrid reasoning, qualitative reasoning, and cognitive modeling. You will have excellent written and verbal communications skills, and leadership experience in agile research and development teams.
