PRINCIPAL MARKETING PROGRAMS SPECIALIST (Preferred location is Houston, TX)
Objective:
The selected candidate will determine methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel (Team Lead). He or she will also provide regular updates to supervisor on project/account status, develop and/or approve the marketing materials related to assigned project. Having wide-ranging experience, the candidate will use professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways, will champion significant projects, programs and business initiatives using demonstrated creativity and ingenuity, and may represent the organization in providing solutions to difficult problems associated with specific projects.
Role:
- Works on the planning and implementation of projects that support the marketing function. Interacts directly with industry managers and product marketing managers to identify new marketing opportunities, works individually or with a team in recommending strategies and tactics, scheduling and planning projects, estimating cost and managing projects to completion. Works with appropriate sales channels (including distributors, sales agents, integrators and industry partners) to execute campaigns. Prepares regular marketing activity reports for management.
- May identify, assess and resolve unique business/commercial/technical issues and risks associated with assigned projects.
- Continually re-evaluates the program processes to identify opportunities for improvement. May identify, evaluate and recommend marketing opportunities consistent with portfolio and sales objectives; provides pre- and post-sale marketing support to distributors and other partners as appropriate; supports public relations through identifying press opportunities and reviewing press releases. Consults with Company management, product and industry managers, sales department and external suppliers to develop and implement promotional plans and recommend marketing philosophy, approach and media.
- Plans, creates, or oversees the production and evaluation of marketing materials needed to implement marketing strategies to meet sales objectives. Prepares or coordinates the production of informational material for communications to the clients and sales channels and oversees the evaluation and modification of such to ensure message reaches maximum number of customers and prospects.
- Responsibilities may also include: coordinating trade show activities, website development, developing future e-commerce strategies, and tracking of marketing campaigns to evaluate results and provide recommendations for future marketing promotions.
- Establishes and maintains project communications with customer groups, suppliers, and other company employees utilizing a variety of communication vehicles and computer knowledge of a variety of software programs,
- Capable of performing, coordinating and/or overseeing activities including graphic design and development, layout, copy/script writing, sales kit preparation and presentation material development. Travels as required to satisfy project needs.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in marketing or related discipline. Post-graduate coursework is desirable.
- A minimum of 9 years experience in developing marketing strategies and executing marketing campaigns.
- Typically requires a minimum of 9 years technical marketing experience with project leadership.
- Broad application understanding of major company products, with emphasis on Distributed Control, Safety Systems, Advanced Process Control, Optimization, Simulation, and other advanced software and industrial applications, plus underlying platform technologies, including Microsoft technologies, historian, SCADA, etc.
- Knowledge of Process and Hybrid industries and understanding of key business drivers in those industries is a plus.
- Thorough understanding of business/commercial terms.
- Excellent quantitative problem solving abilities.
- Experience with Salesforce.com, LiveMeeting or Webex, Exact Target, Marketo or similar software/systems to support marketing demand generation and tracking.
- Knowledge of current and emerging social media/networking options for B2B communications is an important asset (YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.)
- Superior analytical, communication and organizational skills are critical. This individual must possess a high level of attention to detail and be able to juggle multiple projects with continuous deadline pressures.
- Able to identify and develop solutions to complex problems from a strategic and operational perspective that may cross departments.
- Capable of communicating concepts clearly and credibly to multiple audiences (internally and externally) including senior management.
- Ability to travel (25%)
